This Friday, April 24, 2015 is the Seventh Annual Atticus Finch Day. The event was started by Philip Banks and Shane Phelps in order to promote the ideals embodied by Harper Lee's fictional character Atticus Finch in the local legal community. The big idea is that our law licenses are powerful tools that we should all strive to use for the good of the community.
I especially love the Atticus idea of fighting for the underdog. I've always admired that my dad, Phil Banks, takes on clients that are faced with seemingly insurmountable obstacles and bleak possibilities...just like Atticus did in To Kill a Mockingbird.
Please join us in the Brazos County Administration Atrium on Friday at 11:30, and wear your seersucker if you've got it! -Amy
